I appreciate your diss of Brideshead Revisited. As an incurably Anglophilic gay man, I was charmed by the youthful romance of the early chapters. But it quickly devolves into tendentious, reactionary drivel. The book would’ve remained merely a disappointment, however, had I not discovered the existence of a subculture of “traditional” British gay men who embrace the novel as some kind of manual for living. That elevated the book from merely obnoxious to actively pernicious in my eyes.
Being myself a bit of a Lupita connoisseur, I am very glad that they have also cast her as Clytemnestra, so her presence will grace the screen for much longer than this fallen world deserves. I also hope that, aside from flashbacks, they will show her during Telemachus' visit to Sparta. You know, they may as well dispense with Odysseus' storyline altogether.
And also, aside from the ridiculous "dad', I don't think it is theoretically possible that Nolan's film will be worse than Troy.
