On medical issues
I shall be away this coming week in order to undergo a minimally invasive surgical procedure that may or may not aid me in reducing my chronic pain. Recuperation from the operation itself is likely to take a few weeks, and it may be a few months before I have any sense of its efficacy. During that time, we shall make every effort to keep Leaves in the Wind running at its normal pace, but there may be an unforeseen delay or two. We ask your indulgence in advance, and of course your prayers at all times.
O Holy Father, heavenly physician of our souls and bodies, who hath sent thy only begotten Son our Lord Jesus Christ to heal all our ailments and deliver us from death, do thou visit and heal thy servant, David, granting him release from pain and restoration to health and vigor, that he may give thanks unto thee and bless thy Holy Name + of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, both now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.
