Things present and things to come

1. Plans: Just to let everyone know, among the article-series I am planning for the months ahead, starting in a few weeks time, will be one on Artificial Intelligence and virtual culture; another will be on a Christian “cosmopolitan” politics. I also have some more pieces to write on early Christian angelology and Japanese aesthetics. And, of course, columns on whatever it takes my fancy to write about.

2. To mark the release of the Second Edition of my translation of the New Testament, the Yale UP website has posted a short article by me on a verse from Romans 11. It is nothing that readers of this newsletter have not seen before, but I never miss an opportunity to promote myself.

3. I have just been informed that You Are Gods has been nominated for the 2022 INDIES Book of the Year Award and is a finalist in the Religion category. Theological Territories won that very award for 2020, so someone over there must like me.

4. I have been asked by no fewer than seven readers whether I might be planning to include a conversation with Iain McGilchrist among future recordings here. As it happens, yes.
