[On the whole, I prefer not to revisit the debates surrounding my book on universalism. I really have very little to say that I have not already said, and I remain convinced that the book does nothing more than point out a number of self-evident truths. But I have received some very reasonable requests from readers of this newsletter to clarify one issue; and to do this I must rehearse part of the book’s larger argument for what I hope will be the last time.]
