Just in case anyone wants the links. I’m nearly done with my course for modern Greek, so this is wonderful reading material!

Some (perhaps Godsent) clerical error on Amazon means that Sr. Marie de l’Assomption's book is selling for £8.43 instead of £31.82, which I'm helpfully informed is 74% off! I wasn't in the market but I can't pass over a bargain like that, and I want to jump-start my French anyway.

This'll be the second book I picked up thanks to this newsletter, after Bulgakov's Spiritual Diary. Thanks for the tip.

Although, after subsequently discovering the 832 page-count my knees have buckled and I'm feeling a little sheepish. When will impulsive people learn?!

I wish this addendum to serve as a warning to the curious. Don't count your blessing after they've come home to hatch.

I had heard of Ziguras, yet i haden't heard of Venetian Mirrors coming out might be a good place to start thanks for sharing

I was thinking if someone could explain it to Rooney. But the truth is, these people don’t really care what Thomas actually said or thought. They know what they want to believe.

I was thinking specifically of Ed’s confusions regarding potentia oboedientialis and his silly computer-port analogy.

I’m so hyped for your book on consciousness. I finally got my hard copy of RIM today. I couldn’t just have it on kindle.

I find Kindle distinctly unsatisfying as a reading experience.

Yeah it’s just not the same. I’ll use it when I want to dive into a book immediately. Not the same as reading a physical book on the porch next to my fairy garden. Gotta have the atmosphere lol

I love TASBS so much I'd actually consider learning Greek to read it in Greek.

Oh to be counted among the shining few who hold such inspiring scene as they read while I plod on, earth bent in my unbeatified state of Times New Roman.

The chasm between our mortal depravity and eternal consummate union with God is a puddlejump compared to the disparity of cover art here at work here.

Hey David,

Any update on the phil of mind book? My friends and I are looking forward to it!

I seem to have answered this question about a hundred times in these comment boxes. Perhaps I should send out a general announcement. The book will appear this year, in either the spring or fall catalogue of Yale.

If you do send out a general announcement, I wonder if Roland might have a reflection or two that he'd be willing to share regarding the journey that he has witnessed from the proposal that he so kindly wrote on your behalf in the dead of the night sometime before 2015 through to this book's final form.

سيكون ذلك حدثًا ممتعًا للغاية، لكن عددًا قليلًا جدًا من الكتب تُترجم من الإنجليزية إلى العربية هذه الأيام.

Wonderful recommendations thank you.

The book cover is beautiful. Have any of your books been translated into Spanish or Chinese (traditional characters)?

Tanner Foster's avatar

Would you be so kind as to show me where I can find one or more of them in one of those languages? A cursory Google search didn't pull up anything.

David Bentley Hart's avatar

I don’t really recall. There’s a Taiwanese edition of The Story of Christianity. I will have to remember what Spanish versions of my books there are. For some reason, there are more in Portuguese.

Tanner Foster's avatar

Ok that is very helpful thank you! I'm trying to increase my proficiency in those two languages. I'll try to search more myself, but if you do remember that would help me greatly. I guess the Portuguese have good taste!

It might. Rhetorical effect alters with translation, if nothing else.
