I love your work, and I appreciate your writing on how popular culture reflects elements of religious imagination, in particular the MCU and the Monsterverse.
Given that basically the only video of Clark in the internet ends with a very hostile Q&A session with people who clearly didn't understand the point of the talk he just gave, that does not surprise me at all.
Your interviews are fantastic. Have you thought about interviewing Fr. Khaled Anatolios about Athanasius and also his book Deification through the Cross? He is at Notre Dame and I am sure DBH has had lunch or crossed paths with him.
Hmmm. Poor judgment by Fr. Khaled… Sr. Vassa Larin interviewed him and made an aside about it taking some effort. Perhaps if Professor Hart gave a word or taught you the gnostic Melkite password/handshake
I owe Stephen a huge debt of gratitude. I discovered one of his books (in the “sale” rack) at my university library in the early nineties. At the time I (naively) thought all good living philosophers were effectively materialists. I still recall the utter excitement of flicking through the pages as I discovered otherwise. Of course, I then bought the book.
Thanks for passing on your recommendations like this, it is very helpful
Very excited for this. I invited Clark onto APD, but he said interviews are not his scene, which I respect.

Hey thanks!

(To be clear, it's the audience being weirdly hostile to Clark, not the other way around).
He would not know how to be belligerent if he tried. Where is this video.?

I have emailed him once but not about an interview; I can’t recall hearing back.

Ha! I’m sure all involved have better things to do.
Maybe David should grow a very severe and pious-looking beard. I bet everyone will reply to his emails then.

But for your post, I would not have come across Stephen Clark. Thank you. The book is on order.
Hi David, can you please let me know in which of Clarke’s books his essay ‘How To Believe In Fairies’ exists? Many thanks
Ordered this last night!
Looks undoubtedly enlightening!
Looking forward to this, I like to read How to Believe in Fairies annually
Can’t wait to read this! I’ve heard that Clark is very good on life issues. Anything that you could recommend there?
Hey DBH. Do you have thoughts on Michel Henry’s last 3 books.
Brilliant. Problematic in places.
Thank you. Do you have any issue with John Searles philosophy of mind.
Of course. He was a committed materialist and I regard materialism as a superstition.
Eagerly awaiting your philosophy of mind book. Until then I’ll just have to make do living in Plato’s cave
